The series includes prototypes of two chairs, a bench and table that have been cast inside plastic sheeting and reinforced with steel rods and metal fibres.
The prototypes will be on show as part of an exhibition of the designers’ work at the Industry Gallery in Washington DC later this week.
Concrete that looks like soft material!? Concrete is one of my favourite materials for colour (esp after degradation) and texture and I think the texture of these seats are brilliant. Fair enough concrete is not one of the most sustainable materials but I like how the material has been made to seem delicate when in fact we know it to be robust.
