Corky the eco-mouse

This computer mouse by Adele Peters is designed to be powerless as well as wireless.
Piezoelectric elements inside its recycled cork shell harvest energy from its movements, its clicks and its scroll wheel. The electricity produced is used to power a wireless link to the computer.

  1. We used to have cork tiles in our kitchen (I know, rank) and ever since then I have slightly detested the material, but this mouse looks pretty good to me. Apparently Piezoelectric elements have been around for over a century now and like a lot of our advances were fully tested and applied during a World War.
