Chair Stools made from Recycled Milk Jugs

This ‘Butter’ stool is created from 100% post consumer content, derived almost entirely from recycled milk containers. It is made from a single piece of material which when folded together can be hand-assembled to form the small seat. Available colors include yellow, white, black, grey, beige, blue, green, red, and orange.

The UV and water-resistant stackable stool is the product of Australia-based DesignByThem. Sarah Gibson and Nicholas Karlovasitis, the creative minds behind DesignByThem, collaborated on the design and plan to add a table and shelving to the eco-friendly product line.

The designers believe that there is a large difference between designing products that can be recycled and products that are made from recycled materials. Many products can be recycled however the majority use virgin plastic, essentially adding more plastic to a saturated recycling system. Aside from the sustainable attributes of the product, the stool remains extremely robust, being UV stable and water proof.
