The Etsy shop Domestic Construction offers up some interesting hanging lamps made from drinking mugs and cups. The repurposed vessels have been modified to accept hanging lamp wiring and are available in a number of configurations.

Once again this idea of reclaiming products after their initial lifecycle interests me as it minimises the use of energy to either reduce a product to its constituents or to transport products to processing plants. At first I thought these ideas looked tacky, but I realise that we need to move past the idea of completely aesthetically based products.
