Power-Generating Bicycles

If you look closely at the HMK 561 Ultralight Motorbike, you may notice that it has no spokes, chains or pedals. Now you’re probably thinking, as I am, without all that stuff, a bicycle is just a fancy night stand. Well, not only does this beast work, a prototype has already been built.

Designed by Ralf Kittmann, the HMK 561 Ultralight Motorbike contains electrical properties that basically power all of the bike’s movements. Don’t ask me how. The frame is made up of highly conductive Carbon Fiber, which makes the bike one big power distribution network. Pretty hi-tech stuff.

  1. How does this bike work??? I am trying to find some more info on this as it's such an interesting concept. Imagine if we could supply power back to the grid when the pay as go bike system arrives in London; sustainable transport that's good for you and the environment!
